Follow Up on 2019 State Compliance Roadmap

On June 14th, the stakeholders of the Trauma Vendor Alliance (TVA), Clinical Data Management, Digital Innovation and Lancet Technology, held a webinar to discuss state compliance changes as well as technical impacts and options for 2019. The main theme was to convey that change is quickly coming with unavoidable technical impacts to hospitals, states and systems. Therefore, we want to reiterate the importance of planning now. Discussions and key decisions need to occur in a timely manner to determine the technical format your state solution will support beginning in 2019.

The TVA will be developing a State ITDX “channel” for all States/Systems that utilize the NTDS as their current technical foundation for data submission. These state specific versions of ITDX will be a key part of the overall compliance solution for 2019 that will be in place with all CDM, DI and Lancet users in your state. The TVA is inviting and strongly encouraging each State (and System) to participate in the TVA ITDX Workgroup for their State. A priority for each workgroup is to create an inclusive open process for all clinical and technical stakeholders in the State to collaborate on data exchange from local trauma registry solutions. The end product of each workgroup will be a State ITDX XSD that will provide many options and advantages for States as part of your overall data acquisition strategy from trauma centers.

The TVA will be conducting State ITDX Workgroups for California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Wisconsin; with the goal of wrapping each in by the Fall.

The Trauma Vendor Alliance thanks you again for your participation in the 2019 State Compliance Roadmap Nationwide Town Hall. We look forward to working with you on these upcoming changes very soon.
